So, that uppity Christmas party I attended?
The lady and her husband are big shot lawyers who graduated from Harvard Law School, which is why they are so rich...
However, she apparently has a gambling problem... and now she just got arrested from embezzling 145,000 dollars from her clients! Yet, at the Christmas party she still held up the image of being completely filthy rich.
Here's the news story:

Everyone at my poor, low class Christmas party had more money than her individually. Shows how class and economics can be COMPLETELY different things.
Just found that extremely interesting.
Yes, wealth does not always determine class. Most plumbers probably make more than professors but by some estimations they would not be middle class. Love how she had to maintain at the party!
ReplyDeleteWow imagine if she had gotten arrested at the party?? Hows that for appearances of class? It reminds me of that book by Jane Austin, Sense and Sensibility. You have the three daughters who came from wealth, but because of the law that wealth was only to be given to sons, the father was forced to give all of his assets to his son. He made the son promise to "help" his sisters throughout their lives, but became greedy and that help eventually amounted to nothing. The now poor sisters had a good name and no money. One of the daughters was madly in love with a gentlemen who was wealthy and initially he returned her affections. However when he fell on hard times he chose to marry some random girl because her dowry was extensive while the sister he loved had none. The sister ended up marrying another rich man who her affections were less, but he had a good heart. Any way the heroins of the novel were the poor girls while the rich guy was an ass because he cared more about money and supporting his lifestyle than marrying the poor woman of his dreams.. classless
